U.S. News and World Report has named Adventist Health Portland High Performing in four clinical areas: Heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure and pneumonia. These areas include two cardiac programs by Northwest Regional Heart & Vascular.

Each clinical area is graded based on specific data points that range from patient outcomes and volume to length of stay and advanced programs. Depending on the category, the report also evaluates how often patients are discharged to home instead of another facility.

More than 6,000 hospitals were evaluated. Hospitals that earned a High Performing rating were significantly better than the national average.
