David Valadao, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 22nd district, recently shared a series of updates on social media concerning health issues, religious milestones, and agricultural challenges. Valadao has been an active political figure since his time in the California State Assembly from 2010 to 2012.
On May 7, 2025, Valadao addressed World Asthma Day by delivering remarks to the Allergy & Asthma Network. He highlighted the prevalence of asthma in his region by stating that “over half a million people in the Central Valley live with asthma,” adding that millions more suffer from allergies. Valadao emphasized the significant impact these conditions have on people’s lives.
The following day, on May 8, Valadao extended congratulations to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost for being named “the very first American Pope.” He expressed hope that Prevost’s leadership would inspire unity and hope globally.
Later that day, he turned his attention to agriculture, noting that “Central Valley farmers are the backbone of the agricultural industry” but continue to face challenges in finding and retaining a reliable workforce.
Valadao was born in Hanford, California in 1977 and has lived there throughout his life. Since replacing TJ Cox in Congress in 2021, he has focused on issues relevant to his constituents such as health care and agriculture.
