Rep. David Valadao, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 22nd district, has been active on social media discussing legislative initiatives related to forest management and healthcare. Valadao, who replaced TJ Cox in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2010 to 2012, shared updates on his efforts to address environmental and healthcare issues.
On May 13, Valadao announced that the House had passed the Fire Safe Electrical Corridors Act. He expressed concerns about bureaucratic red tape hindering forest management and its impact on air quality in the Valley. In his tweet, he stated: “Bureaucratic red tape often gets in the way of forest management, and it directly impacts air quality in the Valley. It shouldn’t be so hard to remove dead trees we know make fires worse, which is why I’m happy to announce the House passed the Fire Safe Electrical Corridors Act.”
Following this announcement, Valadao highlighted a collaborative effort with fellow representatives Salud Carbajal, Jim Costa, and Brian Fitzpatrick aimed at reducing wildfire risk. On May 13, he tweeted: “I’m proud to join @RepCarbajal, @RepJimCosta, and @RepBrianFitz to take a commonsense step toward reducing wildfire risk.”
In addition to his work on environmental issues, Valadao has focused on expanding access to rural healthcare through telehealth services. On May 14, he introduced a bipartisan initiative with Rep. Adam Gray called the Telehealth Network and Telehealth Resource Centers Grant Program Reauthorization Act. His tweet stated: “I’m proud to introduce the bipartisan Telehealth Network and Telehealth Resource Centers Grant Program Reauthorization Act with @RepAdamGrayCA to expand access and strengthen rural healthcare for the long haul.”
David Valadao was born in Hanford, California in 1977 where he currently resides.
