West Hills College Coalinga is proud to announce its February Student-Athletes of the Month, Devree Godinez from Softball and Alex Lopez of Baseball!
#11 Devree Godinez plays Infielder and pitcher. She is a Freshman from Coalinga High School. Devree, a Kinesiology major, had a 3.2 grade point average in the fall. Coach Brixey on Devree, “She holds strong leadership characteristics that’s huge for our cohesiveness for the team”. For the month of February, Godinez was 16 for 38 at the plate (.364 batting average), scored 15 runs with seven doubles and one home run and had 12 runs batted in. As a pitcher, Devree has appeared in four games has a 1-1 won-loss record with a 4.9 earned run average.
#34 Alex Lopez plays first base and catcher. He is a Freshman from Sunnyside High School in Tucson, Arizona. Alex is a Kinesiology major who had a 4.0 grade point average in the fall. In February, Alex had 17 hits in 31 at bats for .548 batting average, scored eight runs, had six doubles and ten runs batted in.
