On February 13, 2025, Rep. Valadao informed constituents that “Parts of Kern County are bracing for potential flooding today and tomorrow.” He noted that Public Works would provide free sand at various locations such as Bakersfield, McFarland, and Lamont to assist residents in flood preparedness.
On February 14, 2025, he highlighted the World Ag Expo held in Tulare. In his tweet, he mentioned that “This week, Tulare hosted the World Ag Expo,” showcasing new advancements in farming technology and equipment. Although he was in Washington at the time, his staff attended the event to observe these innovations firsthand.
Later on February 14, Rep. Valadao expressed support for family farms and small businesses by announcing his co-sponsorship of a legislative act. He stated that “Family farms and small businesses are the backbone of our rural communities,” emphasizing the importance of not penalizing these families when applying for student aid through FAFSA. The Family Farm and Small Business Exemption Act aims to restore fairness to this process.
