Rep. David Valadao, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing California’s 22nd district, utilized social media to express well-wishes for religious celebrations and address economic concerns attributed to state regulations in recent posts. Valadao succeeded TJ Cox in 2021 and has had prior service in the California State Assembly from 2010 to 2012.

On April 13, 2025, Valadao extended festive wishes in a tweet stating, “Wishing a happy Passover to all who celebrate!” This message aligns with the Passover celebration observed by Jewish communities worldwide.

Additionally, on April 13, Valadao offered greetings for another religious occasion, “Hosanna! Wishing a blessed Palm Sunday to all who celebrate!” This conveys recognition of the day celebrated by Christians as the commencement of Holy Week.

In a more critical address on April 16, Valadao discussed economic implications stemming from local policy decisions. He stated, “Due to Governor Newsom’s burdensome energy regulations, Valero’s Benicia refinery will be closing next year, marking a 20% drop in our refining capacity. California’s gas prices are the highest in the nation, and driving out businesses will only make things worse.” This commentary reflects concerns over the economic impact of Californian energy regulations on the local refining industry.

David Valadao, aged 46, was born and continues to reside in Hanford, California.
