WEST HILLS COLLEGE: West Hills College Lemoore student named Conference Scholar-Athlete

West Hills College issued the following announcement on Dec. 7

The Central Valley Conference announced their nominations for Scholar-Athlete this week. West Hills College Lemoore (WHCL) student athlete and graduate of Corcoran High School, Alejandra Fernandez, was selected as the Female Scholar Athlete of the Year for the Central Valley Conference. Alejandra will advance for consideration as the State Scholar Athlete Recipient. She received an Associates of Arts Degree in Administrative Justice and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts-Social Science from WHCL. Currently, she is attending Hawaii Pacific University on a basketball scholarship. After graduation she plans on obtaining her master’s degree in criminal justice and will pursue a career in law enforcement. 

"We are all incredibly proud of Alejandra earning this recognition. Her hard work and determination created many opportunities academically and athletically. It is always rewarding to see our students reach their goals,” said Andrea Picchi, the Associate Dean of Athletics and Kinesiology.  “Alejandra is a great representation of the student athletes here at West Hills College Lemoore."

“Alejandra gave it her all both in the classroom and on the court.  I loved watching her play.  I was impressed with her athleticism, her sense of maturity, and her sheer determination,” said Kristin Clark, President at West Hills College Lemoore.  “We are so very proud of her and her accomplishments.”
