Clovis Police Arrest 2 at DUI/Driver License Checkpoint

City of Clovis issued the following announcement on August 21.

The Clovis Police Department’s held a sobriety/driver license checkpoint on westbound Shaw Ave at Cherry Ave last night, August 20.  1,403 vehicles passed through the checkpoint between 8:49 PM last night and 1:00 A.M. this morning. Clovis Police stopped and screened the drivers of 654 vehicles. Here are the stats for the evening/morning:

·  2 arrested for DUI.

·  10 driver’s license violations.

The DUI Checkpoint grant through the California Office of Traffic Safety made this checkpoint patrol financially possible. The grant allows the Clovis Police Department to hold special traffic details, including additional checkpoints.
