Please help us welcome one of our newest employees, John Garcia!
John, a maintenance worker in our streets division, started with the City last week. He says some of his primary responsibilities include keeping streets and drains clean and clear of debris, repairing potholes and damaged signs, and identifying trees that need to be trimmed to ensure street signs are visible.
A Central East High School (Fresno) graduate, John completed the Fresno EOC Valley Apprenticeship Connections (VAC) program before joining Laborers Local 294, followed by a six-month stint as a cell phone tower technician with KCCTech.
John is still getting to know Hanford, but he says he already feels welcomed.
“A lot of people have respect for each other, waving hi, saying good morning. I like it a lot.”
John has a big family-10 brothers and five sisters! In his free time, he enjoys working out. Right now, he's training for mixed martial arts (MMA) fights later this year.
Welcome to the team John!
