WASHINGTON – Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-22) has issued a statement following the House's approval of the Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill. As a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies, Valadao expressed his support for the legislation.

“I’m proud to support this bill that honors our commitment to veterans and makes significant quality-of-life improvements for our military families,” said Congressman Valadao. “Importantly, the bill fully funds the VA, veterans’ healthcare, and other critical veterans’ benefits programs to ensure our veterans have the highest level of care. I was also glad to see priorities in the bill I secured for the Central Valley, including language related to beginning construction of the Bakersfield VA clinic and ensuring the VA continues to provide air ambulance services for rural communities. I’ll continue working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to get our appropriations bills across the finish line.”

The FY25 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act allocates a total discretionary amount of $147.520 billion for various departments and agencies. This includes $17.957 billion allocated to defense (Military Construction and Family Housing), which is $412 million above the FY25 Budget Request, and $129.563 billion allocated to non-defense sectors. Additionally, $231.124 billion is designated for mandatory programs, bringing overall funding to $378.644 billion.
