Congressman David Valadao has announced the opening of submissions for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition, an annual event held by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives aimed at encouraging creativity among high school students nationwide. Congressman Valadao said, “The Congressional Art Competition is a great opportunity for Central Valley students to demonstrate their creativity and artistic talent at the national level. This is a competition I always look forward to, and I can't wait to review this year's submissions."

High school students in grades 9 through 12 are eligible to participate in the competition. Those wishing to enter must submit their artwork along with a student release form by 5:00 pm PST on Friday, April 25, 2025. The winning artwork will be displayed for a year in the U.S. Capitol and the artist will be invited to a winner's reception in Washington, D.C., during the summer of 2025.

The artwork must be two-dimensional and conform to the size limitations of no larger than 26 inches in height, 26 inches in width, and 4 inches in depth, with a maximum weight of 15 pounds. Accepted media include paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art, and photographs. Additional guidance advises that charcoal and pastel drawings be fixed.

Details on rules and guidelines can be accessed through the provided links. Submissions should include a high-resolution image of the artwork in jpeg format and be sent via email to William.Klepp@mail.house.gov by the deadline. Queries can be directed to William Klepp by email or phone at (202) 225-4695.
