The Chapman University baseball teams heads into the 2023 season with a pair of Preseason All-Americans as announced by D3baseball.com. Senior pitchers Wyatt Thompson and Grant Manning each earned the distinction.
Thompson was a First Team selection and Manning was selected to the Second Team. The pair of aces led the Panthers to the NCAA Division III Super Regionals last season and were both honored as All-Americans.
Thompson went 9-1 in 2022 with a 2.18 ERA and 82 strikeouts. Manning had an 8-1 record with 118 strikeouts over 106.2 innings pitched with a 3.12 ERA.
The Panther pitchers were the only two players from the SCIAC to be included on the Preseason All-America list released by D3baseball.com.
Chapman opens the year on Feb. 5 against George Fox.
