KCSO CRIME NEWS

On Monday, December 12, 2022, at approximately 0205 hours, a Deputy was on patrol in the area of Lacey Blvd and 10th Avenue in the City of Hanford. The Deputy spotted a Mitsubishi Lancer traveling on Lacey Blvd without any headlights on. The Deputy made a traffic enforcement stop and contacted the driver Abel Camarillo and his passenger Antonio Mendoza.

Abel appeared to have been driving under the influence of alcohol, which was later confirmed by the California Highway Patrol. A records check was completed on Abel and Antonio. It was discovered that Abel was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for the charge of domestic violence. Antonio was also on PRCS related to the charge of possession of a firearm in public. Abel and Antonio were subject to search under their PRCS terms and conditions.

Deputies searched Antonio and located a loaded 9mm Taurus Millenniom G2 in his pants leg. A records check revealed the firearm was stolen out of Texas. Due to Antonio having a prior felony conviction, he was not allowed to possess a firearm.

Antonio was booked into Kings County Jail on the charges of felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon on his person, possession of stolen property, felon in possession of ammunition and carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle. His bail was set at $90,000.

Abel was booked into the Kings County Jail on the charges of DUI and driving without a license. He was later released.
