Thirty formerly incarcerated people once facing life sentences but now excelling in their reentry journeys, returned to Ironwood State Prison (ISP) for an inspirational event on Dec. 17.

The event, hosted in coordination with the Statewide Volunteer and Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC), provided an opportunity for the paroled men to encourage those currently incarcerated to find success in the rehabilitative opportunities available – just like they did.

On the outside, the 30 men are now making positive contributions to their communities, working as computer coders, California Senate staffers, social workers, engineers, government employees and more. During the event, they provided hope to hundreds of incarcerated men at ISP showing them by example, that positive transformation is possible.
