Congressman Valadao joins Hanford small businesses, city leaders to preview East Lacey Corridor Project

HANFORD, CA – Today, Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-22) joined Hanford small businesses and city leaders to highlight the $7.3 million in federal funding he helped secure in the Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) Appropriations Bill for the East Lacey Corridor Improvement Project.

“I came to Congress to deliver results for the Central Valley, and I was glad to work with city leaders in Hanford to help them bring taxpayer dollars back to our community,” said Congressman Valadao. “Once completed, the East Lacey Boulevard Project will improve safety along the corridor, help with the flow of traffic, and invest in nearby businesses. As a lifelong resident of Hanford I understand the need for this project and was glad to help play a small role in moving this forward.”

“We are incredibly grateful for the Congressman’s diligent efforts to secure federal funding for the East Lacey Boulevard Improvement Project. This large-scale infrastructure project will be transformational for the City, its residents, and the businesses that border the busy street. When construction is completed in a couple of years, we know the boulevard will not only be a safer and more efficient road but also a more visually appealing corridor for anyone coming to downtown Hanford from the City’s east side,” said Hanford Mayor Travis Paden.

The funding was secured through a Community Project Funding request submitted by Rep. Valadao in the FY24 Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations bill. Community Project Funding is a tool used by members of Congress to help direct available federal grant money to important projects in their community. Rep. Valadao’s Community Project Funding requests are publicly available on his website.
